Sierra Kay to Sign Copies of “From Behind the Curtain” at the
21st International Festival of Life

CHICAGO, IL – July 3, 2013 – Author Sierra Kay [www.sierrakay.com] will be signing copies of her new book, “From Behind the Curtain” at the 21st International Festival of Life (IFOL), Union Park, 1501 W. Randolph St., Chicago, on Thursday July 4th and Sunday July 7th 2013 from 12pm until 7pm at booth 52. The long running IFOL is a family-festival of music, arts and crafts, attracting thousands to the annual 4-day event each year.

From Behind the Curtain (978-0-9848477-2-3), is a clever suspense fiction, in which the reader will encounter a saga of family secrets. The story surrounds Dee, who spent most of her life on welfare, watching her often-absent father struggle with addiction and, lately, watching her mother’s battle with cancer. Dee had paid her dues, and when her Auntie M brought her to live in Atlanta, things were supposed to get better. In Atlanta, Dee had new clothes, a full fridge, and her own bedroom. However, she soon realizes that life is not a bed of roses.

Kay has been on the festival trail since the start of summer. She attended the Printers Row Lit Fest in Chicago, in conjunction with the Chicago Writers Association, and also the 5th Great Midwest Book Fest, presented by Urban Reviews in Milwaukee this past June, alongside authors such as New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey.

Kay’s love of the written word was predestined as a child.  Her mother, concerned with the state of the public education system in Chicago, encouraged her to read anything that she could get her hands on, including the spelling bee word list that appeared in the Chicago Tribune each year.  Kay was weaned on books like, Anne of the Green Gables, by Lucy Maud Montgomery and A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens. However, her favorite book growing up was, Aesop's Fables.

In 2011, Kay released her first novel Unhinged, in which deception, friendship and betrayal took center stage. From Behind the Curtain, published thru The Vega Group, will be officially release in August 2013 on paperback, with an eBook version being released July 2013. Kay’s book launch party for From Behind the Curtain will be Saturday July 13, 2013 at M. Lounge, Wabash Ave., Chicago from 4 at M. Lounge, Wabash Ave., Chicago from 4pm to 7pm. Free RSVP registration at: [www.fbtc.eventbrite.com].

At least, I hope it's a great place. From a writing process standpoint, it was phenomenal. I hope the readers enjoy it.”
